This cartoon may be true in some cults, but my experience is that most churches can’t get people to show up much less be brain-washed.  What we need of course is not brain-washing but soul washing! 

What we will give God is multiplied!  When we honestly open ourselves to the Holy Spirit, the strange, elegant “coincidences” of providence begin to happen. Oh, they always happened we were just too blind to see them.  The words of Eucharistic Prayer C are apt, “Lord, open our eyes to see your work in the world about us.”
