We spent the day primarily at the British Museum wandering the collections. What I post though is a minor treasure of the collection: the Lewis (pronounced Lewes) chessmen. Follow the link below to see the history of the pieces.
I like them a lot. They are the medieval viking take on the ancient game. The pieces speak to me of the Norse/Celtic heritage of Scotland. What a treasure. I’ve always wanted to see it so now I have.
