The pomegranate is one symbol of the church: one fruit filled with a multitude of seeds. The community of faith is not monolithic (thank God) even though as anxiety rises the pressure to “herd” and succumb to “group-think” increases. Our goal in Christ is to mature and to be a self that is appropriately connected.
